Treating Eczema on Face - May 26th, 2011

healthy skin
Eczema is a skin condition that takes on a rash-like appearance and is used to describe a group of skin ailments that appear red, inflamed, dry, cracked, patchy, or oozing. Every case of eczema is individual and yours can take on one or all of these appearances. No matter your reaction level, eczema is a difficult and often embarrassing skin condition to deal with due to the irritation and unpleasant appearance.

The exact cause of this skin condition is unknown because the eczema rash can be triggered by many different irritants. The only information that is known absolutely is that eczema is the result of an allergic reaction to a foreign allergen. These allergens can include a variety of factors but most often include:

• Dust mites
• Food allergies (dairy, nuts, eggs, soy etc.)
• Pet dander
• Powerful soaps or laundry detergents
• Grass, pollen, or outdoor pollutants

Although this list is far from complete, these are a few factors that health professionals turn to first when attempting to determine the cause of a patient’s eczema. Even though there is not an exact known cause for this skin ailment, treating eczema can be simple if you maintain a regular treatment regimen and don’t let your eczema go uncontrolled for too long. Allowing your eczema affected skin to remain dry and cracked for too long can lead to bleeding, infection, and ultimately scarring.

The following are the most common eczema treatment methods including some of our favorite products that we’ve found to treat eczema efficiently. These treatments provide relief to your skin and encouraging the healing process so that your eczema is less likely to return in the future.

1. Have your doctor complete or complete an allergy test on your own

Allergy tests usually consist of making a list of all possible allergens that you believe could be triggering your eczema and eliminating them from your lifestyle or diet one at a time. This could involve taking a pet out of the home for a week, switching laundry detergents, or using an alternative to peanut butter for a few days. Make sure you allow enough time to pass in between the testing of each allergen to tell if it truly helps the condition of your eczema. This process can be time consuming but well worth it if you’re able to single out the cause for your eczema.

2. Moisturize

This is one of the most important steps when it comes to treating eczema and should be taken seriously. Keeping eczema affected skin moisturized will keep it from becoming too dry and cracking, and will also help to soothe the irritation and lessen the urge to itch. Itching will only further the irritation of your skin so it is best to keep fingernails short and your skin covered so that you’ll be less tempted to scratch. Thick creams that are low in water and high in oil contect are the most affective eczema treatments and are safe to use on bleeding, infected, or oozing skin. Some that we’ve found to work best include: obre skin treatment, exzemax, eucerin, and iS Clinical. All of these products have been scientifically developed to treat and heal eczema affected skin with heavy moisturizers and additional skin protecting agents.

3. Go to the doctor

If your eczema is bad enough, your doctor can prescribe a medication targeted at treating your eczema. Often what doctors will prescribe are steroid creams or immunosuppressants but these treatments are not used for very long. Steroid creams can thin your skin and immunosuppressants can cause you to suffer from additional illnesses because your immune system won’t be functioning at its peak. Seeing a doctor is always a good idea and even if they don’t prescribe you one of these stronger treatments they will be able to assess your eczema and instruct you on the best way to treat your personal symptoms.

These are the basic ways to begin treating eczema. Every person’s skin is different and every case of eczema is different; what works for some might not work for others. No matter what your eczema looks like however, it is always important to keep the area hydrated and to treat your eczema affected skin regularly so that you can heal your skin and help prevent your eczema from coming back in the future.

Asso Bar - March 12th, 2011

Have you ever thought about spreading gold all over your skin? Mariah Carey did in the 90’s, and now, Asso Bar promises that you can too. Technically, the idea was to make her skin “sparkle.” But Asso Bar acne soap supposedly uses gold to protect skin, eliminate acne and other infections, and improve the overall health of skin in many other ways.

Asso Bar Claims

• Treat yourself like royalty with the world’s costliest metal
• The secret of the Ching dynasty and Cleopatra
• Stimulates blood flow
• Increases collagen growth and reduces the breakdown of elastin
• Uses positive ions and antioxidants to penetrate deep into your skin.

Asso Bar Ingredients

At first, all of this sounded a little far-fetched to me. But when I looked into it, (gold I mean) I found out that it’s actually true. Gold is clinically proven to have all of these benefits and then some. And Asso Bar acne soap does not rely purely on gold. It does have other ingredients, and it does have other approaches to make sure your skin is both healthy and acne free.

• Pure 24k gold
• Coconut oil
• Palm oil
• Aqualene
• Herb oil
• Vitamin C
• Glycogen

Why We Love Asso Bar

• Contains pure 24k gold
• Uses healthy ingredients
• Moisturizes and heals the skin
• Prevents future bacteria buildup and damage
• Inexpensive at just $24 a bar!
• No waiting lists
• Great guarantee

Conclusion

Is Asso Bar the best soap for acne? Maybe it’s the best, maybe it’s not. There are plenty of competitors vying for that name. What I do know is that Asso Bar has ingredients that work to promote certain benefits, and Asso Bar acne soap definitely has the ability to do a lot more than most give it credit for.

Acnepril - March 12th, 2011

Acnepril is considered an herbal acne pill that works to target your acne from the inside out rather than “scratching at the surface.” Sounds pretty good so far. It uses natural ingredients only that supposedly fight bacteria at the root while flushing out toxins, balancing hormones, and more.

Acnepril Claims

Like any other product, Acnepril has to draw you in. Otherwise, why would you buy? According to Acnepril, it will:
• Balance hormone levels in your body
• Detoxify your body and skin
• Strengthen your skin with essential nutrients

Acnepril Ingredients

Acnepril has some pretty incredible acne fighting ingredients. Not all would work in a typical external blend. But the idea is to fight acne from the inside out, not the other way around. So it’s a little different.

• Green tea
• Alpha lipoic acid
• DMAE
• Apple cider vinegar
• Licorice root
• Garlic
• MSM
• Dandelion root
• Witch hazel leaf
• Glucosamine
• Milk thistle seed
• White willow bark
• Mangosteen juice
• Noni juice

Why We Love Acnepril

• Has clinically proven acne fighters
• Uses natural approaches to balance hormones, detoxify, and supplement
• Repairs damaged skin without causing side effects for most
• Great guarantee
• Great price

Conclusion

Acnepril has ingredients that work. It has a blend that actually works, even though it doesn’t fit the usual expectations. Acnepril is not the usual suspect, it changes everything. For me, this means that you would do well to give it a try.

The Best Diet Pills To Eliminate Winter Weight Gain - August 10th, 2010

Most of the time, we tend to gain weight in the winter. Some talk about using the same diet and exercise program all winter long, and yet, they inevitably gain 10 pounds during the winter and lose 10 pounds when spring comes! This seems inevitable, and yet it is completely natural. Of course, our diets do actually change with the lack of fresh fruits available to us during the winter season. And when outer temperatures naturally reduce your body’s core temperature, it will slow fat burning. But many find that you are actually less active during the winter season.

Regardless of how much weight you happen to gain or not gain during the winter season, some will use the best diet pills to either keep it off all together or for that matter to help you to lose it that much faster once spring and summer hit and you are getting ready for swimsuit season. But no matter what you are using them for, the worst diet pills or even mediocre diet pills can be potentially damaging to the body, and you do not want to make that particular sacrifice. But if you find the best diet pills, you will be able to effectively burn more fat, suppress appetite, and more.

In other words, you will fight the all too natural reaction of your body to the winter season. They can help you to make up for the fact that you may very well have worse habits during the winter, whether you realize it or not. And they make up for the fact that you may be slightly more sedentary than you think. But all in all, if you get the best diet pills, they will help you to improve possible results.

Do Hormones Cause Acne? - September 10th, 2009

Hormones are a big part of how your skin works.  When you are younger even if you have some skin problems they don’t seem to really be an issue until adolescents when your hormones start to kick in.  And for women especially when their hormones peak this seems to be an especially bad time for skin and acne.  I have a sister that has always struggled with skin issues more than the rest of us.  But since she got pregnant is seems that the problem is the worst it has ever been.

It is hard enough to be pregnant.  You gain all the weight.  You don’t feel good most of the time.  You can barely turn around and you have to go to the restroom for the hundredth time that day.  And then you get skin problems and there really isn’t that much you can do for it.  With the baby being affected by everything you do and eat, this presents a problem in trying to take care of skin issues.  Getting lots of sleep, eating the right foods and proper cleaning will help in keeping your skin looking as good as possible.  And you will have a few months of postpartum will not help your hormones and skin issues.  It will take a while for your body and skin to return to normal.

Oils & Acne - September 9th, 2009

My son turns 11 this year and I have seen an increase in facial acne. His farther had horrible acne and suffered a lot of embarrassment in school because of it. I have talked with my husband on more than one occasion about this and we both agree that with some simple preventative steps we can reduce a lot of the acne that my husband saw as an adolescent. In speaking with my husband it was clear that his parents never took the time to teach him proper hygiene techniques. Back in that day it didn’t matter if your face was clear or your teeth were white or even if your eye brows were waxed.

Don’t get me wrong, we will not teach him the styles of what some call a “metro sexual”, just some basic tips to keep his face clear. I was amazed that my husbands parents never made him wash his face nightly, or keep his greasy and filthy hands (from being a boy) away from his face. As a young boy he would go to bed without cleaning up and then sleep on his hand, hand to face, all night long. To me that seems like a breeding ground for dirt to clog up your pours. None the less, just like with every thing else, prevention comes with knowledge. We are prepared to give that to our son, and we’ll hope for the best.

Homemade Acne Masks - September 8th, 2009

There are lots of ways you can deal with acne by just looking around your house. Especially in your fridge and pantry. I am sure that for centuries women have found ways to help their skin issues and have never had modern medicine or commerce. If you look around you can find stuff to make your own face scrub, masks or even a toner and you don’t have to spend money trying different brands to see which is the best for you.

You can also know just what is going on your skin, because you made it. You can use things like olive oil, sugar, oatmeal, milk and even fruit in combinations to make your skin feel and look great. Another advantage is that if you accidentally get it in your mouth, it might taste great too. For acne you can use a combination of brown sugar and milk. Just add enough milk until it makes a paste. Then put it all over the area you are exfoliating. Let it sit for about 10 to 15 minutes. Wash it off with a warm wash cloth. When you are done if you have black heads or other acne issues put lemon juice on a cotton ball and rub the area. If you tend to get dry skin do this same thing only with milk.

Moisturizers For Acne - September 3rd, 2009

You wouldn’t think that using moisturizer is a way to assist in acne treatment, but it actually can be very helpful, especially if you are using a treatment that is stripping all the oils and moisture out of your skin.  Your body is just reacting by producing more oils to compensate for what it thinks is happening.  Then you are actually going to get the opposite effect from what you think you are getting.  You will get more oil not less.

So my applying a good moisturizer you can add back in the good oils that your skin needs to stay soft without creating the blemishes.  Oh, and you also need one with a sunscreen.  That way you are also getting the added protection that will also help in preventing wrinkles and skin cancer.  All this in just one little moisturizer.  And obviously if you tend to have acne issues pick a moisturizer that is made especially for oily skin.  This way it is adding in the right kinds of oils into your skin and not adding to your problems.  Apply the moisturizer both morning and night.  That way you always have the right protection for your skin..  Your skin will also get use to this and become accustom to it.

witch hazel - September 1st, 2009

What did teens do before there were great dermatologists? I mean I know a lot more kids suffered with acne than do now. But before that big first date or before that prom, what could you do to make sure that you at least did all you could to make sure your skin was looking as perfect as it can? I know one of the things they used was witch hazel. I am sure there are lots of other herbs and remedies that you can buy that don’t cost nearly what some of the big brands of stuff and have as good or better results. Without the big price tag to pay, you can end up with the same result.

I know that even some name brands stuff have products that you can buy like witch hazel but for a lot more than you can buy just the witch hazel for. Plus a lot of the herbs and home remedies have more than one application. So you are not just buying it for acne, but for other cuts or even hemorrhoids. This is a very cost effective solution to some health problems. Much better than spending hundreds of dollars on products that may or may not work.
